As International students, adjusting to a new country can be difficult with unfamiliar customs, classroom culture, and language. We are dedicated to helping you with your transition to college in the U.S, with support services and resources.

Pathways FYE Priority Registration

With a priority registration date, more classes will be available. 这是最好的办法 to get the classes you need and the schedule you want!

We highly recommend getting a priority registration date. To make sure you get a registration date that is a couple weeks earlier than other students, make sure you complete the 后:

  • JAM (FYE orientation)
  • Sign up for 大学1 during your first semester

A big benefit to being an International FYE student at PCC is your access to an International 成功的教练. Our 成功的教练 are current or recent graduate students and they are dedicated to helping you navigate your way through PCC. 

Their main goal is to help you adjust to the culture, as well as the academic, and social expectations of college through time management skills, study strategies, and 其他技术. They are also available to answer questions directly or guide you to a person who can best help you.

Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the International 学生的途径.

No. Participation in the International 学生的途径 (ISP) program is not required. You can choose not to join, but if you are not a Pathway student, you will not receive the many special benefits of the program, like early registration to get the classes you need to transfer to your dream university as quickly as possible, or support from Pathway coaches, 导师, and instructors.

咨询 10 is required for all new International 学生的途径 students placing into ESL levels 2 and 3. 大学1 is required for all other ISP students. 这些类 are part of the Pathway contract. If you choose not to follow the contract, you will lose all the privileges of Pathway students, like earlier registration and extra support from coaches and 导师.
PCC offers many excellent services and resources to all PCC students. 目标之一 of the ISP is to help you learn about and use these resources. In addition, the International Student Center staff are available to answer your questions and help you solve your 问题. However, after the first year, you will not be able to register early with first-year Pathway students, and you will no longer have access to the coaches and 导师.
 Some international students arrive at PCC having completed courses at another college or university in the US. If that is your situation, speak with an ISP counselor or coach to create the best plan to help you succeed at PCC.
